CARIA. Halikarnassos. Circa 500-480 BC. Tetrobol (Silver, 12 mm, 1.63 g). Head of ketos to left. Rev. Geometric pattern within incuse square. Rosen 617. SNG Kayhan 810. SNG von Aulock 2340. A beautifully toned example. Struck from a somewhat worn reverse die, otherwise, extremely fine.

Ex Münzen & Medaillen GmbH 40, 4 June 2014, 248 and from the H.B. Stearns Collection, privately acquired in 1966.

This issue has recently been reattributed from Kindya to Halikarnassos based on staters with a clear ethnic on the reverse (Roma E-Sale 35, 3 May 2017, 279).
